Mike Nichol OBE (Chairman)

Mike spent 15 years working with PricewaterhouseCoopers as an education consultant after 10 years as Director of Education in Wirral Borough Council, one of the larger Metropolitan Education Authorities. He served on a number of national bodies at the invitation of the Secretary of State. He also served on Regional and sub-Regional bodies representing the education service. He was an Adviser to the Association of Metropolitan Authorities and was elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the Society of Education Officers. His very wide ranging local education authority experience spanned 27 years, for 20 of which he held posts at Deputy and Chief Officer level. He finished, in 1998, a term as Chair of the National Youth Agency; an appointment made by the Secretary of State for Education. While working with PricewaterhouseCoopers he undertook a large number of education projects both of a national and international nature.
